Raz-Blanchard

17,5MW Pilot Farm Raz-Blanchard
Raz-Blanchard (Brittany), France

Project overview
17,5MW Pilot Farm

HydroQuest is now developing a 17,5MW pilot tidal farm with the next generation OceanQuest Tidal Turbine producing 2.5MW per turbine. There will be 7 second generation OceanQuest turbines in the Ras-Blanchard 17,5MW Pilot Farm. This is the precursor to the full development of the potential 3GW’s of extractable energy from this location.

The second generation OceanQuest turbine builds on the reliability of the first generation turbine, while increasing the efficiency both in output and cost. The second generation turbine increases the power output by 2.5 times while reducing weight for ease of deployment plus reducing production costs.

Hydroquest will continue the demonstration and technological maturation of sub-sea tidal energy, maintaining the good positioning of French Technologies on the growing international market.
